Our Story

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Bee keeping is in the blood, it never leaves you. At least for me, having grown up in and around my grandfathers apiary, it was inevitable we'd end up looking after our own, although clearly on a much smaller scale than that of the original Rowse honey! David Rowse sowed the seeds amongst his family and now, the second generation after him, there are four of his twelve grandchildren now managing their own small apiaries

How It Started

With a rich family history of beekeeping and a love of nature and our surrounding countryside it was a natural progression for us to become interested in looking after our lovely buzzers! It is a full family affair and a passion that we still share with wider family so we are always sharing recipes, tips and advise between us. It is bee geek central here!

We can often be found tinkering with the hives as a family, we love that it is something that we can all be involved in together and we still get so excited at extraction time. Winnie the Poo has nothing on us. We feel so strongly about supporting our local wildlife and producing a delicious, quality product. Honey really is a super food and so many of it's wonderful properties are lost creating bulk quantities of uniform products for supermarkets and our honey's are the complete opposite of this, just passed through a filter to remove bits of wax and then put straight in to jars.
