LOCALLY SOURCED HONEY AND MORE
Our Commitment
At Hawkswood Hives, we are dedicated to providing locally produced honey and a variety of associated products to cater to different preferences and tastes.
Our Process
With a focus on offering high-quality, natural honey and related products, we strive to enhance your honey experience. All of our honey comes straight from the comb, after a bit of filtering to remove bits of wax, to create a smooth, clean and extremely satisfying delicate honey.

On a weekly basis, as the honey bees continue to gather pollen from the surrounding 3-4 square miles of hedgerows, gardens and crops, we harvest what has been collected to give the bees more space. The honey is filtered and jarred that same weekend, it could not be more fresh than that.
We continue to harvest honey throughout spring (if we are lucky) and summer until the end of August or beginning of September, when we leave what is remaining to the bees to over-winter. At this point we prepare the hives for the next six months, arranging the boxes, treating for varoa and protecting from mice and other potential robbers. Then we leave them to it, feeding sugar syrup or fondant as the situation requires, until spring the next year, when we start again.
