This is our spring honey produced by our bees foraging on the fruit trees and hedgerow plants that blossom through the months of spring around our home. This honey is golden with a richer, deeper flavour and we believe it is rather special. Our honey is untreated, unblended, unprocessed and hand extracted. It is the perfect natural sweetener, delicious drizzled over fruit, porridge or ice cream and unbeaten on a slice of toast!
Spring Honey
Hedgerow honey is produced from a wide range of flowering plants which provide the bees with varied nectar and pollen sources as well as supporting the biodiversity of the surrounding countryside. These natural ancient powerhouse plants lead to honey rich in polyphenols and flavinoids which act as potent anti-oxidants.
At this time of year the bees are also foraging on the fruit trees around our garden namely apple, pear, plum, quince, damson as well as apricot and peach. This lends the honey a sweetness and depth of flavour without being overpowering.
Our honey is always single source and never blended. Our hand extraction, no heat treatment and gentle filtration methods mean that only larger particles are removed leaving all the wonderful, natural anti-oxidants and pollen proteins behind. It really is a super food!
